What is Equine Assisted Learning?

Many people ask, "what is Equine Assisted Learning anyway?" It is an amazing program where the horse is your teacher! When we partner with our horse in this program we connect in a unique and life changing way that can help with personal growth, improved mental health, self esteem and confidence.

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is a learner based educational experience and is an effective approach to human development where participants engage in objectively driven exercises and find themselves learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses. This program is designed to develop the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing of each participant.

Advantages to
Equine Assisted Learning

Mindfulness

Spending time with our  horses necessitates being present in the moment. By cultivating mindfulness while working with horses we can let go of our worries and anxieties and enjoy the connection brought on by building a relationship with these amazing animals.

Self Awareness

Horses are one the most powerful teachers! These highly perceptive animals are masters at reading body language. They live in the moment and always give instant and honest feedback to the energy we give them. The challenges that you will encounter while working with your horse often parallel to the challenges you may experience in your everyday life. It is truly remarkable what horses can teach us!

Leadership

Horses expect leadership and trust from their teammates, whether that is another horse in the herd or their human team member. Horses don’t over think a participant’s motive but they do challenge their behaviour and leadership. They are intuitive and sensitive to their surroundings and the energy we give.

Many people are intimidated by horses due to their size. However, working with these amazing animals can help us to connect with ourselves and others, building valuable skills that will carry us throughout our lives. Working with horses requires patience, mindfulness, teamwork and so much more. There is nothing quite like spending time with our horses and the feeling of connection and empowerment that these sessions bring.
